Fee-free traineeships for employers and trainees in NSW

Effective 1 January 2020, the NSW Government is offering fee-free traineeships for employers and jobseekers under the Smart and Skilled program.

The Smart and Skilled program is a funded training initiative that provides subsidised training for courses on the NSW skills list.

    The fee-free traineeships are available to NSW trainees – including school-based trainees - whose training:

    • Is funded under the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled program
    • Commences on or after 1 January 2020

    The NSW Government funds over 390 different traineeship courses under the Smart and Skilled initiative including:

    • Electrical
    • IT
    • Carpentry
    • Child Care
    • Aged Care
    • Hairdressing
    • Automotive
    • Business
    • Hospitality
    • And so much more!
