The Boards of MEGT Australia and gforce employment + recruitment today confirmed they will proceed with a merger between the two companies. This follows a period of due diligence as announced in October last year.
The merger will take effect on 1 July 2025.
MEGT and gforce are purpose-driven community organisations that have each served the employment needs of their communities for more than 40 years. Bringing the companies together will enable both to better support the needs of their people, employers, communities, and staff.
The merger positions the companies to succeed in a rapidly changing market and to provide enhanced levels of customer service.
MEGT and gforce will maintain a focus on local communities, with local service delivery teams, and continue to serve their clients under the MEGT and gforce identities. In addition to serving metropolitan communities, the merger will enhance the commitment to rural and regional communities.
Demonstrating an ongoing commitment to the Geelong and Ballarat regions, gforce is also pleased to announce the establishment of a permanent trust. Earnings from The gforce Trust will be deployed for employment-related programs and initiatives to help people from Geelong and Ballarat. This is an investment back into communities that gforce has served over its long history.
The Boards express their enthusiasm for the merger and look forward to working together in enhancing services for our communities.
MEGT Chair, Peter Moore, recognised the strong partnership created by the merger.
“MEGT is committed to supporting regional and rural communities and recognises gforce’s strong capabilities and significant position. Joining with gforce will enhance our ability to help even more people and more communities. We are delighted by this wonderful opportunity.”
gforce Chair, Bill Mithen, noted this as a significant moment in the history of gforce.
“We are excited about joining with MEGT and the bright future this provides in helping people achieve the benefits of employment. This builds on the incredible work of our people over decades and starts a new chapter. Together we look forward to serving our existing communities and supporting people across the nation.”
