  • Expert assistance and advice to help resolve short-term setbacks
  • Connections and referrals to specialist support services if needed

Mentoring by MEGT

MEGT’s highly skilled mentors are here to help keep you motivated to be the very best in your new career. We schedule regular one-on-one catch ups and calls to ensure you have the strongest chance of completing your qualification.

Our dedicated mentors are trained to provide confidential support and guidance across a wide range of issues, including:

  • Work and training challenges such as workplace issues, issues completing training and assessments, understanding your job role, administration, career guidance, language literacy and numeracy assistance and more
  • Personal challenges such as mental health, financial support, housing support, access to cultural programs, drug and alcohol challenges, personal relationships, legal matters and more

Some apprentices and trainees are eligible to receive ongoing one-on-one mentoring support at no cost! Working with a mentor means you have a confidential buddy who listens, provides advice, and gives feedback about how to best navigate your apprenticeship.

Apprentices and trainees who are eligible for mentoring include, but are not limited to:

  • Women in Male-Dominated Trades
  • First Nations Australian Apprentices
  • Australian Apprentices with disability
  • Australian Apprentices located in Remote Australia

When needed, MEGT mentors can also work with you to develop ‘stay at work’ plans for when you might be at risk of not completing your studies due to work, training or personal issues.
