SA – Critical Skills Fund payment update

10 December, 2018

Employer completion payments discontinued as of 30 November 2018

The Australian Government recently announced its $100 million dollar investment through the Skilling South Australia initiative aimed at creating more than 20,800 new apprentices and traineeships across the state over the next four years.

An outcome of this investment is that the Critical Skills Fund (CSF), which has previously provided a completion payment to employers supporting an apprenticeship through qualifications from a Critical Skills List, will be discontinued from 30 November 2018.

The State Government remains focused on its commitment to developing skills and assisting South Australians to achieve the qualifications required to build careers and meet the workforce needs of industry.

Employers with apprentices who successfully complete in a Critical Skills List qualification on or before 30 November 2018 will remain eligible for the Critical Skills Fund payment. To attract payment, Training Contract completion applications must be received and approved by the Department on or before 31 January 2019.
