When 9 News Gold Coast recently profiled Kirra Balderston in her role as welding apprentice with Gilmour Space Technologies, MEGT’s Queensland ANP State Manager Russell Carling was also on hand to explain how earning while learning propels apprentices and trainees just like Kirra into the workforce. With women filling just 2% of trades roles, and skills shortages in the sector remaining high, it’s wonderful to celebrate the success of one of our own apprentices within this unique setting.
