MEGT has been contracted by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) to assist 15–24-year-old jobseekers, at risk of long-term unemployment, to re-engage with school, training or work opportunities.
The arrangement is concentrated in the Gold Coast region, as part of the Transition to Work (TtW) program. It is one of several employment programs run under the government’s Jobactive banner. From 1st July, several of these programs will be reformed under the new moniker of Workforce Australia.
