MEGT have a fantastic opportunity with a leading Waste Management Company for a 1st Year Apprentice - Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic! Based at Swanbank (Ipswich, QLD), you will also respond to road side call-outs and occasionally work across alternative locations.

The Role (duties include, but are not limited to):

  • Assist in repairs to machinery, using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
  • Ensure all plant and equipment are in a safe and roadworthy condition
  • Assist in ensuring plant and equipment are returned to operations in a timely manner
  • Record readings for bulk fuel taken from main tank and service truck
  • Assist in keeping accurate maintenance record systems
  • Demonstrate flexibility and assist with operating machinery on site where necessary

    The Ideal Candidate:
  • Strong Work Ethic and Positive Attitude
  • Familiar with and interest in, automotive mechanics
  • Good communication skills, ability to take direction and work in a team
  • Familiar with the operation of a range of hand and power tools
  • Basic Administrative skills
  • Driving Licence and Own Vehicle (Must have)
  • Ability to obtain a Clear Pre-Employment Medical Check
