MEGT have a fantastic opportunity with a leading Waste Management Company for a 1st Year Apprentice - Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic! Based at Swanbank (Ipswich, QLD), you will also respond to road side call-outs and occasionally work across alternative locations.
The Role (duties include, but are not limited to):
- Assist in repairs to machinery, using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Ensure all plant and equipment are in a safe and roadworthy condition
- Assist in ensuring plant and equipment are returned to operations in a timely manner
- Record readings for bulk fuel taken from main tank and service truck
- Assist in keeping accurate maintenance record systems
- Demonstrate flexibility and assist with operating machinery on site where necessary
The Ideal Candidate: - Strong Work Ethic and Positive Attitude
- Familiar with and interest in, automotive mechanics
- Good communication skills, ability to take direction and work in a team
- Familiar with the operation of a range of hand and power tools
- Basic Administrative skills
- Driving Licence and Own Vehicle (Must have)
- Ability to obtain a Clear Pre-Employment Medical Check
