ATEC Group Training has opportunities for full-time apprenticeship in the metal trades. The positions are located in well-equipped workshops. All on and off job training is provided.

If you are a recent school leaver and have completed VET studies in the fabrication  area you are encouraged to apply, likewise if you have completed certificate I or II studies in this area please apply. (Prior training not essential)

The position will provide paid training and workshop experience to achieve the nationally recognised trade qualification:  

MEM30305 Cert III in Engineering - Fabrication

As a Fabrication Apprentice, you will be responsible for:

  • Demonstrating and applying safety work practices.
  • Understanding Weld Procedure Specification sheets and applying to welding tasks with assistance.
  • Selecting, using and maintaining various hand and portable tools with due regards for application and safety.
  • Identifying ferrous and non-ferrous weldable grade materials.
  • Demonstrating application of welding skills, safety precautions, heat treatment and testing of welds.
  • Successfully completing applicable formal training through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)

Additional desirable specifications:

  • Driver’s Licence 
  • Experience working in a fabrication workshop environment 
  • Knowledge of welding and associated procedures
