Apprentice Fitter and Machinist - CNC Operator 

We are an established manufacturing company servicing the defence market, we currently have an opportunity for an energetic self-starter to join our team as a 1st, 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Fitter and Machinist. The role is full-time reporting to our Senior Lead Machinist.

We manufacture a large variety of small to large parts in a predominantly jobbing shop, with a small quantity of R&D parts. We are equipped with new machines - Okuma Mill/turn 5 axis, lathe with live tooling and 3 axis mills, looking to grow our machine shop.

To be successful in this position you will need:

  • To have commenced your Fitter and Machining Trade
  • Good interpretation and understanding of Engineering drawing is essential.
  • Good communication skills is essential.
  • Attention to detail, quality of workmanship to the high level.
  • Passionate & Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Self-motivation and a driven work ethic
  • Comply with the company’s policies, procedures and processes either written or as instructed.
  • Committed to excellence.
  • Physical fitness with the ability to undertake manual handling activities.

Preferred but not essential;

  • Base Experience with or understanding of CAD/CAM (Mastercam) 
  • Background in a Jobbing or Production Workshop environment. 
  • Own transport preferred but not essential.
