Apprentice Butcher

We are looking for an Apprentice Butcher to join our team, new applicants as well as those from the industry welcome.

Our shop operates as a butcher/deli/grocer, Monday to Friday 7am - 530pm & Saturdays 7am - 130pm. 

You will need to be passionate about food, driven and a team player.  

Training for an apprentice butcher covers knife skills, carcass breakdown, knowledge of cooking/preparation, use of commercial equipment and business operation procedures. 

Your main duties include but not limited to: 

  • Assisting the head butcher in the preparation and packaging of meat. 
  • Training to learn procedures and duties in product preparation. 
  • Working under the supervision of other butchers. 
  • Operating commercial butchery equipment such as band saws, mincers & vacuum sealers. 
  • Order preparation, allocation and possibly delivery. 
  • Premises cleaning, such as tray washing, sweeping, mopping, equipment cleaning & sanitation. 
  • Assists in other areas of preparation and storage.
