About the Role:

We are seeking a self-motivated individual to join our team as a Plant Mechanic/Heavy Diesel Apprentice in Mount Gambier. As an apprentice, you will gain the relevant knowledge, skills, and experience as well as a nationally recognised qualification.

In this role, you will:

  • Learning in Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
  • Comply with responsibilities relating to the terms of the apprenticeship Training Contract (training, attendance and attainment of competencies)
  • Under supervision, assist in carrying out mechanical inspections, servicing and repairs per manufacturer and OHS requirements
  • Inspect customer equipment upon return and immediately report any damages to capture/ recoup costs
  • Work closely with experienced mechanics to develop your skills and knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety requirements, Safe Operating Procedures and Safe Operating Practices are adhered to at all times
  • Learn to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Travel to customer sites as required
