  • Conduct workplace communication
  • Fix standard plasterboard wall sheets
  • Fix standard plasterboard ceiling sheets
  • Mix plastering compounds
  • Finish plasterboard joints manually
  • Manually sand plaster work
  • Cut and fix paper faced cornices
  • Work safely at heights
  • Plan and organise work
  • Fix wet area sheets
  • Fix fibre cement board
  • Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry
  • Carry out measurements and calculations
  • Use mechanical jointing equipment to finish joints
  • Fix ceiling sheets to external protected areas
  • Apply basic levelling procedures
  • Apply levels of finish standards to planning and inspection of own work
  • Use vacuum and electric sanding equipment to finish plaster work
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Install and finish plasterboard and fibre cement sheet to arch substrate
  • Rectify faults in drywall applications
  • Install suspended ceilings
  • Construct and install bulkheads
  • Assemble partitions
  • Install dry wall passive fire rated systems

Outcomes

Qualification and recognition: After completing this course, you will receive the CPC31220 Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining.

To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full working rights.
