Connecting Women to Trades Pre-Employment Program

MEGT has partnered with Superior Training to conduct a nine-week pre-employment training program to prepare women for work in the electrical industry. 

The program is open to women who are interested in completing a four-year electrical apprenticeship and gaining a Certificate III qualification. 

This opportunity is open to all women, with special consideration for those who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. 

The program commences on Thursday 19 October and concludes on Friday 15 December 2023 (plus one week of unpaid work experience). 

Training will be conducted at either the Ingleburn or Sydney (near Central Station) training centres, but all practical work will take place at the workshop in Ingleburn.

Schedule
 
Thursday and Friday of each week from 9am to 5pm. 

Training will be provided for the following accredited units:

  • Apply Work Health & Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace 
  • Fix and secure electrotechnology equipment 
  • Attach cords and plugs to electrical equipment for connection to a single phase volt supply 
  • White Card training

Participants will be supplied with:

  • Long pants, shirt, gloves and shoes to the value of $300 
  • Mini tool kit 
  • Opal card to the value of $300 for travel to attend training
