MEGT helps to build a better future

2 June, 2020

MEGT has partnered with one of Australia’s most respected building and construction industry leaders to train the next generation of apprentices.

The Tasmanian Building and Construction Industry Training Board has engaged MEGT as its group training organisation (GTO), to provide employment pathways for those in the greater Launceston area.

The Launceston Apprenticeship Pipeline Project (LAPP) will allow 30 candidates to undertake pre-apprenticeships for their entry into the workforce, which is welcome news in a difficult employment environment.

MEGT will provide an employment pathway, training and support to enter the building and construction field, via initiatives such as on-site experience during construction of the University of Tasmania’s Inveresk facility.

Employers will then have access to job-ready apprenticeship candidates with ‘hands-on’ skills, following an efficient and industry-targeted process. Applicants must be residents of the greater Launceston area.
