2022 Skilling SA: Applications now open for state government funding

16 March, 2022

Applications are now open for funding support through the Department for Innovation and Skills 2022 Skilling South Australia Projects.

The aim of the program is to build skills in areas of high demand within the economy, for the benefit of employers and jobseekers alike.

The Department is seeking applications from businesses to support apprenticeships and traineeships in key sectors including hi-tech and digital; food, wine and agribusiness; tourism; defence and space; creative industries; energy and resources; health, medical and social care (such as aged care and disability services).

Applications to support commencing apprentices or trainees who are from under-represented or disadvantaged groups are encouraged.

With applications for the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) wage subsidy due to close on 31 March 2022, this is a timely opportunity for SA businesses seeking support to onboard an apprentice or trainee.

More than 260 Skilling SA Projects have been designed across the state since the program’s inception. As MEGT has already been fortunate to partner with businesses in many of these, our specialist workforce planning team is uniquely positioned to assist in the preparation of applications.

While applications are currently open until 30 September 2022, they may close earlier if the budget is fully subscribed. Funding is subject to demand and budget availability, with Training Contracts scheduled to commence on or before 1 March 2023.
