Initial Key Responsibilities:
- Learn to receive stock and maintain cleanliness to the workshop.
- Learn to use the CNC and all cabinet making machinery.
- Potential to learn to program cabinets on the computer.
- Assist with all site installations.
- Deliver cabinets and various items to work sites.
Key Learning Areas:
- Learn to read plans and work with precision to minimize reworks.
- Learn to cut by hand and use a CNC machine.
- Learn to construct and assemble cabinet components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by the foreman and client.
- View calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges and side panels, always using blueprints or design plans for reference.
- Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units.
- Reinforce joints and attachments to maximize sturdiness and durability without compromising aesthetic appeal or functionality.
