We currently have an opportunity for the right person to undertake a Diesel Fitter apprenticeship in our marine/industrial workshop.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Certificate III in Engineering Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic.
You will learn how to strip, assess, repair, assemble and test a large range of engines & gearboxes. You will learn to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, and work with a range of electronics under the guidance of experienced tradesmen in a small and busy workshop.
Know this, two days are never the same - in the workshop, down at the marina on board a vessel, out on the ocean. You will receive training on the best marine engine & system manufacturers in the world including Volvo Penta, Scania, MAN, Twin Disc, Seakeeper & Humphree.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following:
- A genuine desire to become a qualified engineering tradesperson
- Have a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Self-motivation with a positive work ethic
- Commitment to on and off the job training
- A willingness to learn and work within a team environment
- ​Drivers licence
