Financial incentives for WA employers

A range of financial incentives are available to Western Australian employers to encourage and support those who invest in apprentices.

Whether you’re hiring your first apprentice or expanding your team, these incentives offset the cost of employing an apprentice and help your business access comprehensive apprenticeship services provided by Group Training Organisations such as MEGT.

Jobs and Skills WA Employer Incentive (up to $8,500)

The Jobs and Skills WA Employer Incentive is available to employers who employ an apprentice or new entrant trainee and have lodged the training contract on or after 1 July 2019.

Base incentive payments are up to $8,500 for full-time apprentices and $4,250 for full-time trainees. In addition to base incentive payments, additional loadings are available for training that is identified as a State priority or training for priority groups.
