Matthew’s career began in accounting and finance before joining MEGT as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Company Secretary in 2011. Matthew was appointed CEO in 2023. His leadership skills and business acumen play an important role in identifying and achieving strategic objectives to maintain the business’ position as a leader in the market.

Spiros joined MEGT in 2018 before his appointment as financial controller and subsequent promotion to his current role. After starting his career more than 20 years ago as an assistant accountant, Spiros loves the diversity of his role and driving financial strategies to help the business achieve its’ objectives.

With a global perspective gained from diverse roles in business operations, customer service, and technology across a multitude of sectors, Peter is poised to drive enduring, positive change within the industry.

Emilia joined MEGT as Company Secretary in 2024, with more than 15 years of experience as a Company Secretary and governance professional. Emilia's career has been hallmarked by strong progression through roles of increasing complexity and responsibility, along with skilled leadership and experience providing strong counsel on various regulatory and corporate governance issues to diverse boards.

Sharon joined MEGT in 2021, bringing with her more than 17 years of deep expertise in employee relations, human resources, and industrial relations. Her career spans a wide range of sectors, including government, not-for-profit, and private enterprise, across both national and international settings. Sharon leads MEGT’s People and Culture function with a calm, values-led approach, focused on enabling others and delivering meaningful outcomes.

Natalie joined MEGT from the higher education sector, where she was Chief Marketing Officer at La Trobe University and previously Global Marketing Director at RMIT. With over 20 years’ experience, she is an accomplished business executive, with extensive commercial marketing experience working in organisations spanning retail, finance, health, IT, and education.

Daniel is in phase two of his career at MEGT, with a 20 year history in the apprenticeship, education and employment services sectors. His focus is on developing new business models, products and services while improving the assistance our business provides to all its’ customers and stakeholders to make a positive difference in peoples’ lives.

Chris has spent more than 17 years in his chosen field, a career which has taken him across both Australia and the United Kingdom. He is passionate about developing projects to help the disadvantaged and working with stakeholders to create sustainable education and employment pathways.

Troy has spent the vast majority of his career working across all areas of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and support services. For 30 years, he has been a passionate advocate for all types of employment and apprentice programs and initiatives which have delivered positive outcomes and helped inform policy.

Todd joined MEGT in 2023 and hit the ground running with innovate ideas about how to implement collaboration strategies to benefit the business. With 25 years of experience in the recruitment, training and labour hire sectors, Todd is incredibly passionate about making a meaningful impact in peoples’ lives.

Paul joined MEGT in 2019 in a strategy and design role within our Apprentice Connect Provider team, being appointed to his current role in 2021. With more than 20 years of experience in the sector, Paul is passionate about improving peoples’ social and economic engagement and broader participation in the community.

Mandy joined MEGT in 2023 as Executive Assistant to the CEO, bringing over 20 years of experience supporting senior leaders across government, private, and not-for-profit sectors. Beginning her career in media and advertising, Mandy has successfully navigated diverse industries, building a reputation for adaptability, discretion, and exceptional organisational skills. Her broad professional journey has equipped her with a unique perspective and a proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, making her a trusted and proactive partner at the executive level.

Our Board

Peter Moore (Chair)

Peter became Chair of MEGT in June 2024 having joined the Board of Directors in 2021. He has held various senior positions at the consulting firm Accenture, culminating in an APAC (Asia Pacific) leadership role. His extensive experience in strategy and technology has been invaluable in shaping and helping to continue executing MEGT’s strategic direction and initiatives.

 

Michael Boyce OAM

Michael joined the MEGT Board in August 2021, bringing more than 20 years of experience working in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. He is a respected leader at both a strategic and operational level, helping governments, industry, organisations and individuals alike in the VET space. Michael came into VET with an industry background having undertaken senior management roles in the specialist trades services sector of the building and construction industry in both SA and NT.

 

Cherie Diaz

Cherie joined the MEGT Board in February 2023 with a strong strategic commercial background, including end-to-end operational leadership across vocational, higher education and non-accredited education institutions. A passionate advocate of microcredentials, lifelong learning, and education innovation driven by learner-centricity, outcomes, and industry partnerships. Cherie is Executive Director, Education Innovation at Western Sydney University, and Board Advisor to the Future Skills Organisation.

 

Barry O’Gorman

Barry holds a Master in Business Law and MBA (Monash) and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). Barry joined the MEGT Board in 2007 and has more than two decades of experience in both Australia and the UK as a non-Executive Director, Director and GM within the healthcare, pharmaceutical and distribution industries and education. Barry is also non-Executive Director of Ego Pharmaceuticals, and has more than 30 years of GM-level experience. Strengths in planning, operations and finance, with a proven ability to revitalise and steer companies to achieve their business goals.

 

Robert Ball

Robert joined the MEGT Board in September 2017 as independent non-executive director and currently serves as Chair of the Strategy and Risk Committee. He has held a range of senior leadership positions across the health and technology sectors and is a life member of both the Royal Society for Public Health (London) and the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia. His career includes senior roles in Victorian teaching hospitals and with the Royal Australian Air Force, as well as academic contributions at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Following completion of an MBA, he led significant health information technology initiatives within major healthcare institutions.
