Painting & Landscaping Futures (QLD)

Painting & Landscaping Futures is an 18-week program in Townsville designed to provide a supportive pathway for First Nations people as they start a career in construction or conservation.

Get paid while you learn

Gain a nationally recognised qualification, work-readiness skills, hands-on experience, first aid knowledge and personalised mentoring and support.

Throughout the Painting & Landscaping Futures program, participants will:

  • undertake a Certificate I in Construction
  • receive First Aid & CPR training
  • get your White Card and Working at Heights certificate
  • gain practical work-readiness skills 
  • get experience working at ABIS Community Co-operative Society 
  • be supported by a team of experienced supervisors and mentors
  • make connections with potential employers 

Throughout the program, participants will receive tailored support to help you build your confidence and find and stay in work. Possible career pathways include working as a construction apprentice (eg. plumbing, carpentry, landscape), labourer, trades assistant or local council outdoor crew.

Laying the foundation for a career in resources

Painting & Landscaping Futures participants undertake the CPC10120 Certificate I in Construction with Civil Safety, the program's Registered Training Organisation (RTO) partner.

This qualification covers essential skills, workplace knowledge and safety practices required to work on construction sites.
