‘I Got Built’ is a specialist pre-apprenticeship program based in South Australia which helps young Indigenous Australians find employment in the construction industry.
The pre-apprenticeship program will provide industry relevant, on-the-job training for Indigenous youth. It is designed specifically to create employment solutions for young Indigenous Australians that will increase their employment opportunities and benefit the construction industry.
17 Indigenous job seekers will participate in the ‘earn and learn’ initiative, undertaking a Certificate II in Construction (CPC20113), with full support from a range of partners.
70% of participants are expected to be signed to a full-time apprenticeship once they’ve completed the course.
I Got Built for Employers
Pre-apprenticeships programs such as ‘I Got Built’ are vital as Australia recovers from the economic effects of COVID-19.
We are currently looking for employers to host graduates after they complete their training. By signing up an ‘I Got Built’ graduate, you will gain an employee who has:
- Industry-relevant skills and hands-on experience
- A nationally recognised qualification (Certificate II in Construction)
- A passion for the local construction industry
I Got Built for Job Seekers
‘I Got Built’ provides ongoing support and mentoring throughout the program, and a nationally recognised Certificate II in Construction once completed.
Construction industry professionals will guide participants as they ‘earn and learn’, in a program which offers:
- On the job training from qualified professionals
- Real, industry-relevant work experience while you study
- In-demand skills and experience to help you find employment
MEGT is committed to creating employment for all Australians, and the ‘I Got Built’ program offers equal job opportunities for Indigenous youth.
