Celebrating apprenticeships at Brekky in the Burbs
We were on the ground in Queensland this week, joining B105’s Brekky in the Burbs in Brisbane to celebrate apprentices and the employers who support them every day.
The celebration brought together local businesses, job seekers and community members for a morning of live radio, music, conversation and connection - shining a spotlight on apprenticeships and the important role they play in building Queensland’s future workforce.
"I think apprentices and apprenticeships should be celebrated because we need them. The industry isn’t going to keep running unless we have apprentices." – Maddy, Electrotechnology Apprentice.
"I think with the amount of infrastructure ahead of us in the next five to ten years, and clearly with a skills shortage, apprenticeships are where the next level of tradies will come from." – Adam, State Manager at Frontline HR.
MEGT works closely with employers and apprentices across Australia to strengthen workforce pathways and support industries facing ongoing skills shortages. Events like Brekky in the Burbs provide an important opportunity to highlight the real impact apprenticeships are having in local communities.
