Amos is building a strong career as a Plasterer
Amos Idagi has proudly reached a significant milestone in his career, successfully completing his apprenticeship as a Plasterer with Gold Coast-based company JGB Interiors. His journey has been one of commitment, perseverance, and a genuine passion for his trade.
Coming from a rich and diverse cultural heritage—Birri-Gubba from Queensland’s Burdekin River region, Magaram (Murray Island) in the eastern Torres Strait Islands, and with strong connections to the South Sea Islander culture of Vanuatu, Amos carries a deep sense of identity and pride in all that he does. He approaches his work with the same dedication, ensuring every project he is part of is finished to the highest standard.
During his time as an apprentice, Amos thrived in the positive and supportive environment fostered by JGB Interiors. He enjoys the variety and creativity that comes with wall and ceiling lining, as well as the opportunity to work alongside a team that values camaraderie and professionalism. His natural leadership qualities have shone through, particularly in his willingness to mentor and guide new apprentices, making the learning process fun and encouraging for them while ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Now a fully qualified tradesperson, Amos is eager to keep building his skills and reputation within the industry. He has aspirations to one day establish his own business, where he can continue to pass on his knowledge and maintain the high standards he has developed during his apprenticeship.
Reflecting on his achievement, Amos expressed heartfelt thanks to his employer and colleagues for their encouragement and support throughout his training, describing them as “such a great team to work with.” His story is one of hard work, cultural pride, and a strong vision for the future.
