MEGT have a vacancy for an A grade qualified Electrical Technician to partner with an Australian manufacturer producing explosion-proof HVAC systems for highly regulated industrial environments such as the mining and petro-chemical sectors. Site-based in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels and enclosures
- Interpret electrical schematics, drawings and single-line diagrams
- Install and terminate electrical components and control gear
- Ensure all work meets quality and compliance standards
- Conduct testing and support final product sign-off
- Work collaboratively within the manufacturing team
- Support and supervise apprentices as required
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment
What we're looking for:
- Current A-Grade Electrical Licence
- Industrial electrical experience within manufacturing or assembly environments
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Eligibility to supervise apprentices
Desirable but not essential: - Exposure to PLC systems (Siemens experience advantageous)
- Experience with industrial automation or control systems
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-focused environments
