About the role:

This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills and gain hands-on experience. Your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Assist with maintenance, fault finding and repair of electrical equipment in a maritime environment, including carrying out fault finding on machinery and plant equipment to ensure systems are safe and operational through testing, diagnostics, and replacement of components to maintain naval ships and submarines in working order
• Support docking, undocking and transfer operations of vessels and structures
• Complete on-the-job training with qualified technicians and attend formal study for Certificate III
• Obtain and utilise additional licences (e.g. forklift, working at heights, confined space)
• Follow all safety, environmental and site procedures while contributing to a strong safety culture

What we're looking for:

• 2nd or 3rd-year apprentices ready to progress their training with a supportive, experienced team.
• Motivated 1st-year apprentices eager to learn and develop their skills (Pre-Apprenticeship) (Preferred)
• Punctual, reliable, and energetic with a strong work ethic
• Ability and willingness to work at heights, on or over water, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions (hot, wet and cold)
• Hold a valid driver's licence and have access to a reliable vehicle, as well as be eligible to obtain any required Defence security clearances
