Jim's Scratch & Dent Crestmead are currently looking for an Apprentice Automotive Spray Painter to join our company.

Jim's Scratch & Dent Crestmead is a locally owned and operated franchise providing mobile cosmetic vehicle repairs throughout Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and surrounding areas. We specialise in repairing scratches, dents, bumper damage and paintwork, delivering high-quality repairs directly to our customers.

You will work alongside a dual-qualified Panel Beater and Spray Painter, learning all aspects of automotive refinishing and minor body repairs in a supportive and hands-on environment. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a long-term career in the automotive industry.

Duties will involve: 

  • Vehicle preparation including washing, sanding and masking.
  • Assisting with minor dent and scratch repairs.
  • Mixing automotive paints and learning colour matching.
  • Applying primer, basecoat and clear coat under supervision.
  • Buffing and polishing completed repairs.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment and vehicles.
  • Assisting with mobile repair jobs at customer locations.
  • Following workplace health and safety procedures.

The successful candidate will:  

  • Have a genuine interest in cars and automotive repairs.
  • Be reliable, punctual and hardworking.
  • Be keen to learn and take direction.
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Be motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Be trustworthy and safety conscious.
  • Present themselves professionally when dealing with customers.
  • Hold a driver's licence (or be working towards obtaining one).
  • School-based apprentices and recent school leavers are encouraged to apply.
