About the Traineeship

This is an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn through a government-funded Smart and Skilled traineeship program delivered in partnership with MEGT and a Registered Training Organisation.

Successful candidates will work towards a nationally recognised qualification while gaining practical experience in residential aged care.

Key Responsibilities

As a Personal Care Trainee, you will be supported to learn and develop skills in:

  • Assisting residents with personal care activities, including showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Supporting residents with mobility and transfers.
  • Assisting with meal service and hydration.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support to residents.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting observations.
  • Following infection control, workplace health and safety, and aged care standards.
  • Working collaboratively with care staff and multidisciplinary teams.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking individuals who:

  • Have a genuine interest in caring for older people.
  • Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect.
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team.
  • Hold or are willing to obtain:
    • National Police Check
    • NDIS Worker Screening Check (if required)
    • Evidence of current vaccinations as required by aged care regulations
