Apprentice Butcher
We are looking for an Apprentice Butcher to join our busy team.
Our butcher shop works at a fast pace and work schedules will include weekends.
You will need to be passionate about the food industry, career driven and a team player.
Training for an apprentice butcher covers meat preparation techniques, knife skills, product knowledge, food safety, use of commercial equipment and customer service procedures.
Your main duties include but not limited to:
- Assisting qualified butchers in the preparation and presentation of meat products.
- Training to learn procedures and duties in meat cutting, trimming and packaging.
- Working under the supervision of experienced butchers.
- Operating commercial equipment such as slicers, mincers, saws and vacuum packing machines.
- Serving customers and assisting with sales when required.
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment and displays.
- Assisting in stock control, storage and rotation of products.
- Following workplace health, safety and food hygiene standards.
