Cabinet Making Apprentice
Newcastle Kitchens & Joinery has a position available for a Cabinet Maker Apprentice to join our team.
We specialise in delivering high‑end kitchens, laundries, robes, custom furniture, bathrooms, and all aspects of joinery. Working alongside qualified and skilled cabinet makers, you will be taught all areas of factory and onsite work, developing into a confident and highly skilled tradesperson.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on and varied apprenticeship involving both factory and onsite work. You’ll learn all aspects of kitchen installation, cabinet fabrication, and working with a range of materials including 20mm stone and Granite Transformations engineered stone.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installing new kitchens, including cabinets, benchtops, panels, and hardware
- Carry out modifications to existing kitchens, such as resizing cabinets, adjusting layouts, and fitting new components
- Work with 20mm stone and Granite Transformations stone, including handling, cutting, and preparing pieces for installation
- Operate factory machinery, including machining out cabinet components and preparing jobs for production
- Fabricate cabinets from start to finish, including cutting, edging, assembly, and quality checks
- Run jobs on CNC or panel saw machinery to ensure all components are ready for installation
- Assist tradespeople onsite and learn best‑practice installation techniques
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace in both factory and onsite environments

- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team
- A current driver’s licence is essential (manual licence preferred)
- Ability to follow safety procedures and handle materials correctly
