1st Year Apprentice Greenkeeper

The Capel Golf Club is considered one of the premier Golf Clubs in the South West of Western Australia, we have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Course Maintenance team in the position of 1st Year Apprentice Greenkeeper.

No experience is necessary however applicants should be able to demonstrate a keen interest in turf, outdoor work and machinery. The ability to play and understand the game of golf may be advantageous, but not essential.

The successful applicant will be reporting to the Course Superintendent, your primary purpose is to participate as an active and enthusiastic member of our small team whilst carrying out the necessary golf course maintenance duties.

You will assist with course set-up, sand bunker maintenance, gardens, use of machinery for mowing, and turf renovations utilising skills and knowledge as developed through formal and work place training.

You will be trained in all aspects of golf course management, including completing a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management, attending Murdoch TAFE in 2 week Block Release 4 times per year over 3 years and have the necessary interest and personal qualities required of the role.

You should have a license, own transport and access to accommodation in the Murdoch area for when attending TAFE.

The position is full time 38hr week with weekend overtime on a rotating roster. 

Award wages on offer as well as uniform and parking provided.
