With two large production facilities in Braeside, a third currently under development, and 17 retail outlets across Melbourne, our business is recognised for its commitment to quality and innovation. As a rapidly growing and dynamic company, we are seeking an Apprentice Maintenance Fitter to join our team at the Braeside production site. This vital role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our manufacturing equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with mechanical fitting and maintenance tasks
- Conduct regular equipment checks and preventative maintenance such as oiling to ensure minimum levels of machinery down time.
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
- Prioritise and manage daily maintenance tasks and respond to internal work orders.
- Develop, implement, and update the Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Safely carry out manual handling duties.
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and quality standards across all maintenance activities.
About You
- 2nd or 3rd year apprentice preferred
- 1st year apprentices welcome to apply
- Strong interest in mechanical fitting and machinery
- Basic machining skills preferred
- Basic welding skills a bonus
- Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn
- Comfortable with hands-on, physical work
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts
Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
- Physically fit and able to work in varied environments, including warm and freezer areas, and perform tasks involving standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.
