Fitter Machinist Apprenticeship
We currently have an opportunity for the right person to undertake a Fitter Machinist Apprenticeship.
Australian Fluid Handling is a leading supplier and manufacturer of bespoke Engineered Skid Packaged Equipment, Fuel Systems, Specialist Process Pumps and Gas Compressors. We are part of Torishima Group, with a history of 100 years in the business. We represent and service some of the world's most revered global brands.
The candidate will report to the Workshop/Service Manager and work closely with all other staff in the team. There is an opportunity to work with a variety of Pumps, Compressors and Project Skids offering constant job stimulation and learning. The role will be mainly workshop-based but there may be some site-based work both locally and interstate depending on the level of experience and abilities.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Certificate III Mechanical Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
In return, you will be exposed to and supported with:
- Disassembling, assessing, repairing, assembling and testing pumps, gas compressors, mechanical seals, couplings and associated rotating equipment
- Manual lathe and manual milling machine operation
- Assisting with the following points below.
- Root cause analysis investigations with detailed reporting
- Completing inspection and test plans to compliance standards
- Providing troubleshooting advice and reliability solutions
- Preparing repair work quotations, associated documentation and scheduling of jobs for repair.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following:
- A genuine desire to become a qualified engineering tradesperson
- Have a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Self-motivation with a positive work ethic
- Commitment to on and off the job training
- A willingness to learn and work within a team environment and occasional site work
- Strong commitment to EHS
- Driver licence and a reliable vehicle would be preferred
