We are seeking a motivated First Year Apprentice Cabinet Maker/ Wood Machinist to join our team and learn the trade from experienced professionals in a supportive workshop environment.

About the Role

This is a full-time apprenticeship position where you will complete a Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology while working alongside skilled tradespeople.

You will gain hands-on experience in:

  • Operating woodworking machinery
  • Manufacturing custom cabinetry and joinery
  • Reading and interpreting plans
  • Assembling and installing cabinetry
  • Working with solid timber, veneers and sheet materials
  • Maintaining tools and workshop equipment
  • Learning traditional and modern joinery techniques

You will work on a variety of projects including architectural homes, detailed custom joinery, and restoration and conservation of timber structures.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine interest in working with timber
  • Is reliable, punctual and well-presented
  • Has good attention to detail
  • Is willing to learn and take direction
  • Has basic maths skills
  • Can work both independently and as part of a team
  • Holds a driver’s licence
  • Has completed Year 10 minimum (Year 12 preferred)

Pre-apprenticeship training in cabinet making or construction is highly regarded but not essential.
