Carpentry Apprentice
Access Covers Australia Pty Ltd, a leading precast concrete manufacturer, is seeking an apprentice to join our busy, safety-focused precast concreting division. Our team produces some of the most technically challenging and bespoke precast concrete pits and structures in the industry.
About the Role
We are looking for an apprentice carpenter to join our production team.
What skills you will gain:
- How to read and interpret shop drawings and set out formwork accordingly.
- Ability to read and interpret precast shop drawings, including cast-in items, chamfers, rebates, and tolerance notes.
- Experience setting out and constructing moulds for panels, beams, columns, pits, and other precast elements.
- Skilled in working with timber, plywood, steel moulds, and modular proprietary formwork systems (Perri, Acrow, Doka, Cassaform)
- Ability to measure, cut, assemble, and strip formwork accurately and efficiently.
- Competency in installing formliners, blockouts, voids, rebates, drips, nibs, and ferrule patterns.
- Work efficiently with reinforcement and concrete teams to ensure flawless pours.
- Maintain high standards of dimensional accuracy and finish quality.
- Keep a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
About You
- Punctual, reliable, and a cooperative team player.
- Safety conscious and able to follow safety procedures rigorously.
- Some experience/basic understanding of hand and power tools
- Knowledge of basic workshop machinery such as panel saws and bench tools a bonus
- Ability to work within tight tolerances and maintain consistent accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- White Card (mandatory).
- Dogging or Rigging ticket (highly desirable).
- Forklift licence (LF) (highly desirable).
