IT Traineeship - People First Bank (Microsoft Program)
Location: Adelaide

MEGT is partnering with People First Bank (Heritage and People's Choice) to recruit an IT Trainee looking to kickstart their career in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

This role sits within the Microsoft Traineeship Program and follows a proven structure that has successfully supported previous trainees into long-term IT careers.

About the Program

The Microsoft Traineeship Program is an entry-level pathway designed for individuals eager to begin a career in IT. You will be employed by MEGT and placed with People First Bank, gaining hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

About the Role

This is a full-time, 24-month traineeship, primarily based within the Service Desk team, with potential progression into other IT areas after the traineeship is complete.

You will start by supporting bank employees with IT issues, learning how to troubleshoot problems, manage user accounts, and navigate enterprise systems. As your skills grow, you will take on more complex tasks and may progress into areas such as desktop support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line IT support via phone and ticketing systems
  • Log, manage, and resolve service requests
  • Assist with user account setup and access management (Active Directory)
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues using knowledge base articles
  • Escalate more complex issues when required
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ticket updates

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine interest in starting a career in IT
  • Basic technical knowledge, such as troubleshooting or account management
  • Strong communication skills and confidence speaking on the phone
  • Ideally some experience handling calls or customer service
  • Willingness to learn and commit to a 24-month program
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check (and potentially additional checks)

Training & Work Environment

  • Initial 2 weeks of in-office training, followed by a hybrid work model (2 days in office, remainder from home)
  • Supportive team of experienced IT professionals
  • Structured learning with real on-the-job experience

What You'll Gain

  • Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking)
  • Microsoft certifications
  • Hands-on experience in a large enterprise environment
  • Clear career pathways into desktop support, application support, or cyber security
  • Opportunity for ongoing employment post-traineeship

Why Apply?

  • Earn while you learn, with no HECS debt
  • Gain real IT experience from day one
  • Be supported by a dedicated MEGT Field Officer
  • Start your career with a recognised national program
