Position Summary
This is an exciting traineeship opportunity for someone looking to start or build a career in warehousing and logistics.
As a Warehouse Operator Trainee, you will receive on-the-job training while working alongside experienced team members to develop the skills and knowledge required to safely and efficiently manage warehouse operations.
You will gain hands-on experience in receiving, storing, inventory control and dispatch, while working towards a nationally recognised qualification (where applicable).
This role requires a strong focus on safety, quality, organisation and teamwork, with ongoing support and mentoring provided throughout the traineeship.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations (Training Provided)
- Assist with receiving, inspecting and unloading incoming goods
- Learn to verify deliveries against purchase orders and packing lists
- Support safe storage of materials in designated warehouse locations
- Assist in preparing and packing orders for dispatch
- Learn to load trucks and coordinate outgoing shipments
- Develop skills in maintaining accurate inventory records
Inventory Control
- Assist with stock counts and cycle counts
- Learn to identify and report discrepancies, damages or shortages
- Support proper labelling and traceability of materials
- Gain understanding of FIFO practices
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Work Health & Safety (WHS) procedures and company policies
- Learn safe operation of forklifts and warehouse equipment (training provided, licence supported if required)
- Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment
- Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks
Logistics Support
- Work with team members to understand operational priorities
- Assist with freight bookings and transport documentation
- Support project and operational requirements as needed
Skills & Experience
- No prior warehouse experience required – full training provided
- Forklift Licence (LF) is advantageous but not essential
- Basic computer skills (or willingness to learn)
- Good physical fitness and willingness to perform manual tasks
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
