If you’re considering enrolling your existing staff in a funded traineeship qualification, you may wish to do it before 31 December 2016, according to upcoming changes just announced by the WA State Government.
What is changing?
On 31 December 2016, Future Skills WA will remove Government funding from over 20 traineeship qualifications.
The Existing Worker User Choice Funding List will be adjusted, and subsidies will be withdrawn from a range of qualifications including Leadership and Management, Bookkeeping, Agriculture and Horticulture.
In addition, from 1 January 2017, new qualifications will be included on the Existing Worker User Choice Funding List.
What does this mean for you?
Courses that are removed from the Existing Worker User Choice Funding List may be more expensive to undertake from 1 January 2017.
Enrolling staff in these courses now may ensure training costs attract a subsidised rate providing the Training Contract is approved by the WA State Training Authority before 31 December 2016.
Any contracts approved after this date will not be eligible to receive funding for these qualifications.
