We have a number of positions available for an enthusiastic people looking to start or continue their Plumbing apprenticeship in Newcastle NSW. 

Successful candidates will be employed full time, be paid award wages and receive training in a Certificate III Plumbing.

You will get the opportunity to work alongside professional tradespeople and you will learn all aspects of the Plumbing industry.  You will also receive dedicated support from HIA Apprentices in all aspects of your training and employment.

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Have a great attitude towards work, self-motivated, proactive and willing to learn
  • Be punctual, reliable and hardworking
  • Be committed to finishing their apprenticeship and become a fully qualified Plumber
  • Be a team player
  • Have an attention to detail
  • Must have a driver’s license or reliable transport
  • CI Card (White Card) (or be willing to obtain prior to starting)

Our Energy Division is growing and we are currently seeking a highly motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Electrician with a passion to join the Renewable Energy sector. The role reports to our in house Field Service Manager, with onsite supervision from qualified A Grade Electricians. You will join our in-house installation team in completing top quality Solar & LED lighting installations, for residential and commercial customers. You will also be proactive, hardworking and dedicated to your training.

You must have:

  • Good communication skills
  • Be reliable
  • Have a positive attitude towards work and your Team

Key Purpose and Functions:

  • Ensure customers receive an outstanding installation experience
  • Installation and servicing commercial and residential 
  • Solar systems, LED upgrades, and energy monitoring devices
  • Complete Solar and LED warranty jobs where required
  • Provide support to our installation and operations team 

To be successful in this position it is essential that you possess:

  • Experience in Solar highly regarded
  • Valid Driver’s Licence in your state
  • White card
  • Working at Heights certificate
  • Working with Children Provide
  • First Aid/CPR Excellent communications skills
  • Knowledge of Health and safety legislation and practices
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Certificate II in Electrotechnology preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of Solar industry an advantage
