We have a number of positions available for an enthusiastic people looking to start or continue their carpentry apprenticeship in the Newcastle Area. 

Successful candidates will be employed full time, be paid award wages and receive training in a Certificate III Carpentry.

If the idea of working with your hands, building structures, and working on construction sites appeals to you, a carpentry apprenticeship ticks all the right boxes. You will get the opportunity to work alongside professional tradespeople and you will learn all aspects of the carpentry industry.  You will also receive dedicated support from HIA Apprentices in all aspects of your training and employment.

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Have a great attitude towards work, self-motivated, proactive and willing to learn
  • Be punctual, reliable and hardworking
  • Be committed to finishing their apprenticeship and become a fully qualified carpenter
  • Be a team player
  • Have an attention to detail
  • Must have a driver’s license or reliable transport
  • CI Card (White Card) (or be willing to obtain prior to starting)

Applicants who have already commenced their apprenticeship training or lost their position due to the Covid-19 outbreak would be given priority.

2nd or 3rd Year Solar Electrical Apprentice (NSW)

The role reports to our in house Field Service Manager, with onsite supervision from qualified A Grade Electricians. You will join our in-house installation team in completing top quality Solar & LED lighting installations, for residential and commercial customers. You will also be proactive, hardworking and dedicated to your training.

You must have:

  • Good communication skills
  • Be reliable
  • Have a positive attitude towards work and your Team

Key Purpose and Functions:

  • Ensure customers receive an outstanding installation experience
  • Installation and servicing commercial and residential 
  • Solar systems, LED upgrades, and energy monitoring devices
  • Complete Solar and LED warranty jobs where required
  • Provide support to our installation and operations team 

To be successful in this position it is essential that you possess:

  • Experience in Solar highly regarded
  • Valid Driver’s Licence in your state
  • White card
  • Working at Heights certificate
  • Working with Children Provide
  • First Aid/CPR Excellent communications skills
  • Knowledge of Health and safety legislation and practices
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Certificate II in Electrotechnology preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of Solar industry an advantage

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE IN AGED CARE

Your new role, as a Domestic Care Assistant, will offer a permanent part time contract. 

  • You will be providing support to clients with domestic assistance duties such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
  • You will provide assistance with transportation for your clients to appointments / shopping and leisure outings
  • You will build and maintain strong and effective relationships with clients and their families
