Getting ready for your sign-up appointment
A sign-up appointment is an important milestone at the start of your apprenticeship journey. Your MEGT consultant will take you through your Training Contract, and explain what’s required from both yourself and your employer.
Before your sign-up appointment:
MEGT will be in contact with you to arrange a 30 minute Get Ready Check. This appointment is to ensure you are well-prepared for your apprenticeship and so we can identify any support that might help you complete your qualification.
You'll be able to select your preferred appointment time and date using MEGT's WillBe app. An invitation to download the app will be sent to you by our team to get you underway!
What to bring to the sign-up appointment:
Are you under 18?
If you’re under 18 years old at the date of sign-up, it’s best if a parent or guardian is present at the sign-up meeting. If they can’t make it, we will need to be able to get their signature post sign-up. The Training Contract cannot be registered with the State Training Authority until parental consent is obtained.
Get support throughout your apprenticeship journey
Starting an apprenticeship or traineeship can be challenging, especially in the early stages. That’s why MEGT provides a range of tools and resources to help you and your employer navigate common challenges. You can also access expert advice to help you resolve short-term setbacks and navigate workplace and personal challenges.
You may be eligible to receive one-on-one support from a qualified mentor. MEGT mentors offer confidential advice and encouragement that is proven to help keep apprentices and trainees motivated and on track.
