Security Equipment Installation Apprenticeship
MEGT are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to commence a Security Equipment Installation Apprenticeship (1st Year) with our host based in Yatala QLD. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a long-term career in the electronic security industry while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
As a Security Equipment Installation Apprentice, you will assist qualified technicians with the installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance and repair of electronic security and communication systems.
You will gain hands-on experience working across a variety of environments, including:
- Residential homes
- Commercial office buildings
- Retail premises
- Industrial facilities
- Construction sites
Responsibilities:
You will assist with the installation and setup of:
- CCTV and IP video surveillance systems
- Access control systems
- Alarm and intrusion detection systems
- Intercom and communication devices
- Electronic locks and associated control hardware
What You Will Learn:
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will develop skills and knowledge in:
- Fundamentals of electronic security systems
- Network and IT basics (IP addressing, switches, NVRs, etc.)
- Electrical low-voltage cabling practices
- Reading and interpreting technical documentation
- Diagnostics and problem-solving techniques
- Safe Work Procedures and WHS/ OHS requirements
- Professional customer communication and site conduct
About You:
- Genuine interest in electronics, security systems or IT
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
Requirements:
- White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- Valid driver's licence
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
