Upholsterer Apprenticeship
MEGT in partnership with a leading upholstery specialist based in Bayswater North is on the lookout for a motivated and creative 1st Year Upholstery Apprentice!
You'll join a supportive and experienced team learning the art of restoring and crafting high-quality furniture and fittings for the healthcare, hospitality, and retail sectors.
From working with fabrics and leathers to shaping foams and frames, you'll develop the skills to transform concepts into beautifully finished pieces used by people every day. If you enjoy working with your hands and want a fresh, practical career path, this could be the perfect fit for you.
About the Role:
- Create, repair, and reupholster furniture for healthcare, hospitality, and retail environments.
- Select, measure, and cut durable materials such as vinyl, polyester blends, and specialty fabrics.
- Custom design and fit new upholstery pieces to meet client needs.
- Restore and refurbish existing items for restaurants, offices, and hospitals.
- Safely operate hand tools, sewing machines, and cutting equipment.
- Maintain and repair upholstery to extend product life and quality.
What We're Looking For:
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated, with a strong work ethic
- Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport
- White Card (preferred but not essential)
- A genuine commitment to safe work practices
