About the Microsoft Traineeship Program
The Microsoft Traineeship Program is an entry-level program designed for individuals who are eager to start a career in IT. This program is ideal for those with a keen interest in technology and excellent communication skills. When you join the program, MEGT will be your legal employer and you will be placed with a Host Employer within the Microsoft Australia partner network.
About the Roles
These full-time roles will see you rotate between two positions over 24 months - Service Desk Analyst and Desktop Support Analyst - giving you broad exposure to different areas of IT. As a Service Desk Analyst, you'll be the first point of contact for IT support, assisting staff with technology issues, managing service requests, and maintaining user accounts. As a Desktop Support Analyst, you'll provide on-site technical support, set up and configure hardware/software, troubleshoot issues, and maintain IT asset records.
Qualifications
You'll receive paid study time while completing a nationally accredited Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking) and recognised Microsoft certifications.
Duties
Service Desk Analyst
- Answer and log IT support requests via phone, email, and webchat
- Create, update, and close service tickets in ServiceNow
- Set up, modify, and deactivate user accounts
- Help maintain knowledge base articles
- Assist with incident communications to staff
- Support queue management and help train new team members
- Follow IT policies, procedures, and security requirements
Desktop Support Analyst
- Provide first and second-level IT support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Set up new equipment for staff, including installing software and creating user profiles
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site and remotely
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets
- Apply updates, patches, and security measures
- Document troubleshooting steps and contribute to the knowledge base
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards
