About the Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate to commence their Apprenticeship as a Wood Machinist. Your apprenticeship will see you trained in the following areas:

  • Use a range of equipment to cut, shape and mould wood into industry set forms.
  • Consult plans and drawings to meet production specifications and meet Australian standards.
  • Select and fit blades, cutter heads and guides to machine timber.
  • Operate and adjust machinery to shape and mould wood to a high standard.
  • Grind, hone and sharpen various cutters.
  • Clean and maintain the machinery, tools and workspace such as planers, dockers and moulders.
  • Be taught teach how to operate, set up, and maintain moulders, end matchers, dockers, and other variants of machines."
  • Preventive maintenance tasks.

This role is a permanent, full-time position based at our Kyogle mill. You will work alongside a fantastic team and learn from the best in the business. At the successful completion of your 4 year Apprenticeship you will have earned a Certificate III in Wood Machining.  Typical Shifts are 5:00am – 3:15pm Monday to Thursday, with occasional flexibility required to ensure opportunities to be trained on all parts of our process.

To be successful in securing this role you will have:

  • Completed Year 12 (preferred).
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • An interest in the timber industry.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Work well in a team environment.

Successful Applicants must currently have full working rights in Australia, undergo a full medical and physical, undergo a Police Check as well as drug and alcohol testing as part of the recruitment process.
