Apprentice Greenkeeper (Golf)
Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
The Cerberus Golf Club maintains a unique 18-hole (5840 m) Par 72 golf course. The Club has almost 400 members and is also open to the general public on non-competition days.
We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to commence a career in Sports Turf Management. You will be guided by our Course Superintendent and well supported by our Committee of Management.
We are seeking an individual who is:
- Genuinely passionate about sports turf management and the game of golf
- Can demonstrate a desire to learn and excel in the turf industry, both at work and through their studies
- Enthusiastic and has strong attention to detail
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks and enjoy working outdoors
- Has a drivers licence or willing to obtain one
Responsibilities of the successful applicant will include:
- General golf course set up and upkeep of the Golf Course
- Mowing duties which will include: - Greens, Tees, Fairways and Rough
- Raking bunkers and bunker maintenance
- Assist with fertiliser and chemical applications
- Irrigation maintenance and repair
- Operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment
