Hodson Building Group is looking to employ a 1st or 2nd year apprentice to join our growing team. Located in Melbourne Hodson Building Group specializes in all aspects of Building and Carpentry with majority of work located in the Eastern suburbs.

The 1st or 2nd year apprentice will have a great opportunity to work alongside qualified carpenters and the director to learn and gain on site knowledge across all aspects of carpentry whilst completing your apprenticeship. 

The successful applicants will need to have the following:

  • Own work vehicle 
  • Victorian Driver’s licence
  • White card 
  • Hand tools/basics tools

The successful applicant will have the following qualities:

  • Hard working and works with urgency
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative
  • Have a passion for Carpentry and Construction
  • Passion for learning and listening

About the Role:

  • You will be working Monday to Friday, a minimum of 38 hours per week on various job sites across Melbourne
  • Carpentry Apprentice will be required to complete CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience 
  • Commence ASAP

Your roles and responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Use carpentry tools and equipment
  • Carry out demolition of minor building structures
  • Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry
  • Conduct workplace communication
  • Carry out measurements and calculations
  • Work safely at heights
  • Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
  • Construct wall frames, ceiling frames, erect roof trusses, construct pitched roofs & eaves
  • Install and replace windows and doors, Install lining, panelling and moulding
