Apprentice Pastry Chef
We are looking for an Apprentice Pastry Chef to join our busy team.
Our kitchen works at a fast pace and work schedules will include Saturdays.
You will need to be passionate about food, career driven and a team player.
Training for an apprentice pastry chef covers basic baking and cake decorating skills, knowledge of ingredients, use of commercial equipment and kitchen procedures.
Your main duties include but not limited to:
- Assisting the head pastry chef in the preparation and baking cakes
- Training to learn procedures and duties in food preparation.
- Working under the supervision of the pastry chef.
- Operating commercial cooking equipment such as mixers, ovens and stoves.
- Kitchen cleaning, such as dish washing and equipment cleaning, sanitation.
- Assists in other areas of food preparation and storage.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a passion for the food baking industry.
- Be punctual & reliable.
- Have flexibility to work different shifts.
- Be well presented.
