Apprentice Security Systems Technician with Data & Television Systems

Job Overview:

We are seeking motivated and eager-to-learn people to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of security, data, audiovisual, and MATV systems. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced technicians, learning the fundamentals of the security trade, television systems and work closely with IT professionals to install the elements they require to roll out IOT technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Support structured cabling installation, including network and fibre optic cabling.
• Assist with the setup and configuration of audiovisual equipment such as projectors, speakers, and televisions.
• Assist in the installation and maintenance of MATV (Master Antenna Television) systems.
• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring schematics.
• Follow health and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
• Work closely with senior technicians and project managers to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients on-site.

Requirements:

• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in security, data, audiovisual, and MATV systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical or IT-related principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
• Physically fit and able to work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Valid driver's license essential.
