Carpentry Apprentice
BJM Constructions are seeking two dedicated individuals to join our expanding team as a Carpentry Apprentice. Specialising in all aspects of Carpentry with a focus in Residential Framing.
About the Apprenticeship:
Combination of on-the-job training whilst completing studies with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to become a Qualified Carpenter.
Tasks and Duties:
- Working on Residential building sites using hand tools, power tools and other equipment
- Reading plans, drawings and specifications
- Cutting materials and assembly as per plans
- Setting/flicking/marking out, Erecting framework, bracing, laying and install of subfloor, joist, trusses and more
- Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings
- Lift heavy materials, working at heights
- Maintain site cleanliness and adhere to all safety procedures

About the Role:
- 4 year contract in duration with potential to be signed off early
- Full-time (Monday to Friday)
- Northern, Eastern, South Eastern & Bayside locations
- Predominantly domestic framing on new builds / Stick and prefab building
- Domestic lock-up, fix, cladding, decking and pergolas + more
- Excellent ongoing opportunities for long term employment and professional development
- One on one/ on-the-job training and mentoring
- Complete a nationally recognised trade qualification (Certificate III in Carpentry) whilst applying what you learn on a job site
- Company fuel card (eligibility rules apply)
About You:
- White card
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Willing to learn
- Strong work ethic
Desirable, but not necessary
- Driver’s licence and reliable transport, however carpooling is potentially available depending on location
- Certificate II in Building and Construction (Pre-apprenticeship), or relevant work experience
