1st Year Engineering Apprentice (Sheetmetal)
A Group Training Organisation is seeking a motivated school leaver to commence a 1st Year Engineering (Sheetmetal) Apprenticeship.
This is an entry-level opportunity suited to a recent Year 12 graduate who is looking to start a hands-on trade career. You will receive on-the-job training with a host employer and off the-job training at TAFE, working toward a nationally recognised qualification.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting tradespeople with sheetmetal fabrication and installation
- Using hand and power tools under supervision
- Measuring, cutting, and assembling materials
- Learning to read basic drawings and specifications
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Following workplace health and safety procedures
Selection criteria:
- Year 12 / Senior Certificate completed
- Interest in engineering, fabrication, or sheetmetal work
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
- Ability to work as part of a team
- White Card (or willingness to obtain)
- Driver’s licence or working towards one (preferred)
Conditions:
- Full-time apprenticeship
- Wages paid in accordance with the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award
- Apprentice rates apply based on age and year of apprenticeship
- Superannuation and entitlements in line with legislation
To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full working rights.
