Metal Fabrication Apprentice (Fitter)
We currently have an opportunity for the right person to undertake a sheet metal apprenticeship.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Certificate III Engineering Fabrication – Sheet Metal Fabrication.
A full time position exists with an immediate start to join an expanding business, specialising in the custom manufacture of stainless steel commercial kitchens.
In return, you will be exposed to and supported with:
- Assisting to cut and fold light gauge stainless steel
- Reading and interpreting work shop drawings
- Manual machine operation of hydraulic brake press and guillotine
- Cutting stainless steel tube, angle and plate
- Mig and Tig welding of light gauge stainless steel
- Occasional polishing of stainless steel frames
- Operation of hand tools
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following:
- A genuine desire to become a qualified engineering tradesperson
- Have attention to detail
- Self-motivation with a positive work ethic
- Commitment to on and off the job training
- A willingness to learn and work within a team environment
- Driver licence and a reliable vehicle would be preferred
- Previous experience preferred
